Causes of Foot Pain
There are many different causes of foot pain that can keep you off your feet. While we are a clinic that specializes in gout diagnosis and gout treatment, we can also treat many other types of foot pain. Other common causes of foot pain include, arthritis, bunions, neuroma, sesmaoiditis, planters warts, injurues and lack of proper foot support. No matter what the cause of your foot pain is, we will get to the bottom of it and help you find the pain relief that you need. Foot pain can keep you off your feet and actually lead to other complications because you cannot burn off the excess energy that builds of due to lack of movement.
What Causes Gout
Gout will occur when urate crystals begin to accumulate in your joints. These crystals take the form of sharp, knife like objects that will start to rip and tear into the muscles, tendons and cartilage located in your joint. This can cause severe pain and extreme inflammation in the afflicted joints. These crystals form when there are high levels of uric acid in your blood. Uric acid is a common substance in your blood and is used to break down certain types of foods. Naturally your kidneys are responsible for breaking down uric acid and it will be expelled in your urine. But if there is too much uric acid due to a fault in your kidneys or the glands that produce the substance, an excess can start to build up in your blood stream, allowing the uric acid crystals to form.
